You’re lying in bed replaying a conversation from Tuesday. Or planning for five disasters that probably won’t happen. Your brain is trying to protect you. It’s also wearing you out.
I help adults slow the spiral down and sort out what actually needs their attention right now. All online, so you don’t have to add one more drive to your week.
Denton has a lot going for it: the Square, the live music, two universities, and that small-town feel even as it keeps growing. It also has a lot of people stretched thin. Students juggling classes and jobs. Commuters on I-35 before sunrise. Parents bouncing between school pickup and work.
Anxiety doesn’t care how much you love where you live. And when you’re already stretched, driving across town to one more appointment can feel like one more thing to worry about.
That’s why every session is online. You log in from home, take a breath, and we start, without the extra stress of getting there. I’ve lived in Denton for 20 years, so you won’t have to explain the town to me either.
You re-run what you said, what they meant, and what you should have said instead.
You’ve prepared for five possible futures, including the very unlikely ones.
Your body is on the couch, but your mind is still answering emails.
Even small choices come with research, doubt, and another round of what-ifs.
First, we get specific about how your anxiety works. What sets it off, what your mind predicts, what your body does, and what you do next all tell us something useful.
From there, we might use CBT or REBT to question thoughts that sound certain but are really built on fear. Mindfulness helps you notice a spiral without climbing inside it. The tools have to fit your actual life, or they don’t help.
The goal is learning to stop spiraling about things that aren’t in your control. That one skill can seriously lower your anxiety.
That’s okay. We can start with what you notice in your thoughts, your body, or your routines. You don’t need a polished explanation before we begin.
No. We pick the pace together and choose steps that feel manageable. Surprise assignments are not my style.
No. I live in Denton, but every session is online through SimplePractice, a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.
