Talking past each other
You both feel unheard, and every conversation ends in the same place.
couples therapy · plano, tx
Two careers, two calendars, and a relationship that keeps getting pushed to next week.
Online couples therapy means you don’t have to coordinate a drive across Plano to work on it. You just need an hour and a quiet room.
When both of you work demanding jobs, the relationship can start to feel like one more meeting on the calendar. It’s easy to stop really talking.
Virtual sessions cut out the commute and the waiting room. You can join together from home, and we spend the whole hour on the two of you.
There’s no office in Plano. Every session is online, and you both just need to be in Texas at session time.
You both feel unheard, and every conversation ends in the same place.
Work keeps winning, and the relationship gets what’s left over.
A comment about the dishes turns into a fight about respect.
Nothing’s on fire. You want to keep it that way.
My couples work is informed by Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. In practice, that means we look at how you talk to each other during conflict and build habits that make it easier to repair.
I won’t pick a side. I’ll help you both slow down, feel heard, and notice the pattern you keep falling into together.
In couples counseling, much of the real work happens outside of our sessions. You’ll learn tools and techniques to strengthen your relationship, but lasting change comes from putting those skills into practice in your everyday lives. Our sessions will help you recognize patterns, improve communication, and learn healthier ways to navigate challenges. However, meaningful progress requires both partners to be willing to put in the effort, even when it feels difficult or uncomfortable. The more you practice what we discuss, the more opportunity you have to create lasting, positive changes in your relationship.
