Have you lost someone? Are you currently going through a difficult breakup? Our grief process is about loss (not just death).
Grief can be quiet, angry, confusing, numb, or all of those before lunch. There is no correct schedule for missing a person, a relationship, or the life you expected.
The world kept moving after a death, even though your version of it changed completely.
You are grieving the person, the routine, and a future you had already pictured.
A job, friendship, home, ability, or plan ended, and people may not understand why it hurts this much.
Sadness gives way to anger, relief, guilt, or numbness. Then the whole cycle changes again.
Other people have moved on from asking, but the loss still arrives in ordinary moments.
In session, I will help you learn about the stages of grief. Learning about grief can help you put words to what you’re experiencing and understand that grief doesn’t follow a straight line. Instead of judging where you “should” be, you can begin recognizing what you need in the moment and allowing yourself to move through the loss at your own pace.
Grief is not linear. We can talk about the person or relationship, the parts you miss, the parts that were complicated, and what life looks like now. You do not have to protect me from the messy version.
One thing to know, even when you get to the acceptance stage, there will be events that take you out of acceptance and into a different stage. This is normal and I can help you navigate it.
No. Breakups, divorce, job loss, changes in health, lost friendships, and plans that did not happen can all bring grief.
More than one feeling can be true at the same time. Relief does not cancel love, and sadness does not erase the difficult parts.
Grief does not keep a neat calendar. We can look at what you are carrying now without measuring it against someone else’s timeline.
