Why do I keep ending up in the same kind of relationship?

Maybe you are stuck in the same argument, questioning a relationship, recovering from one, or noticing that different people keep bringing out the same old pattern.

Individual counseling gives you room to look at your relationships without managing anyone else’s reaction while you talk.

Is this you?

You overthink every interaction

A delayed text or different tone can turn into an entire story before you have any facts.

Conflict makes you disappear

You shut down, agree, apologize, or leave the room because staying present feels impossible.

You do all the emotional work

You explain, repair, remember, and adjust while wondering when the other person will meet you halfway.

A breakup still has a grip

The relationship ended, but the questions, anger, or urge to check in did not end with it.

Your needs feel inconvenient

You can identify what everyone else wants faster than you can say what matters to you.

What we’ll work on

  • Repeated relationship patterns
  • Communication during conflict
  • Trust, jealousy, and uncertainty
  • Boundaries without excessive guilt
  • Breakups and difficult endings
  • Recognizing your needs and limits
  • Choosing how you want to respond

How I approach it

We look closely at what happens before, during, and after a difficult interaction. The goal is not to put every problem on you. It is to find the places where you have a choice.

We may trace a pattern back to what you learned about closeness, conflict, or keeping the peace. Understanding the origin can explain a reaction without making it permanent.

Then we practice something different: saying the honest thing sooner, tolerating another person’s disappointment, noticing a red flag, or pausing before sending the paragraph you may regret tomorrow.

Questions

Can I come alone if the problem involves my partner?

Yes. Individual counseling can focus on your reactions, needs, decisions, and patterns even when the other person is not in the room.

Will you tell me whether to stay or leave?

No. I can help you slow the decision down, consider what matters, and notice what the relationship is asking of you. The choice stays yours.

What if we want to attend together?

Couples counseling may be a better fit when both partners want to work on the relationship in the same sessions.
